How to build it
- Type the size you need above, in millimetres, centimetres or inches.
- Download the PDF and print it at 100% — never “fit to page”.
- Cut every solid line and score every dashed line.
- Cut the outline, score and fold every dashed line, then join the open edges with tape on the inside, or glue a narrow strip of card across each seam. Fold every crease both ways first and the shape almost closes itself.
Questions about the polyhedron nets
- What is a net?
- The flat shape you cut out that folds up into a solid. A cube net, for instance, is six squares joined so they fold into a box — the classic one is a cross.
- Why are there no glue tabs?
- Because a plain net is unambiguously right, and tabs are the part that looks correct on screen and then fails in your hands. Join the open edges with a strip of tape on the inside, or glue a narrow strip of card across each seam.
- Why does the dodecahedron come as two pieces?
- Twelve pentagons in one flat layout is bigger than a sheet of A4. Two halves of six each print easily and are taped together round the middle. The icosahedron splits into two strips for the same reason.
- What edge length should I use?
- The edge length is one side of one face, so a 40 mm cube edge gives a 40 mm cube. Keep it under about 50 mm if you want the bigger solids to fit A4.
Print your own design on it
Every template here takes your artwork. Add a picture in the panel on the left — a logo, a photo, a pattern — drag it where you want it on the polyhedron nets, and it prints with the template. It is trimmed to the cut outline automatically, so nothing spills over the edge, and it goes into the PDF as a properly embedded image.
