What this is
BoxTemplate draws cut-and-fold box templates — dielines — to whatever measurements you type in. 39 shapes, four file formats, no account, no watermark, no charge. You can also drop your own artwork onto the drawing and print the box with your design already on it, which is the part most free template sites leave out.
Who runs it
One person, independently — not a company, not a print shop, and not the free tier of something larger. The site went live on 14 August 2026 and every template on it is still maintained by hand. If something is wrong — a template that will not fold, a measurement that comes out short — write to [email protected] and it gets fixed, usually the same week. Mail to that address reaches whoever writes the code, because that is the same person.
Why it is free
Because it costs me almost nothing to run. There is no server doing the work: the geometry is calculated by your own browser, and the site itself is a few static files on a CDN. Nothing here is a trial, a teaser or a lead magnet for a printing business.
How it works, and why nothing is uploaded
Every template is computed in JavaScript on your machine. Your measurements are never sent anywhere because there is nowhere to send them, and a picture you add is read, resized and drawn into the download by your browser alone. That is not a policy that could quietly change — it is how the thing is built. The privacy page spells out the one exception, which is ordinary visitor statistics.
What you may do with the templates
Anything, including selling them. There is a plain-English licence that says so in full.
What it is not
It is not a packaging platform. There are no 3D mock-ups, no FEFCO structure library and no team accounts, and there is no plan to add them. If you need engineer-drawn industry-standard structures, a professional tool will serve you better. This is for someone with a printer, a craft cutter or a print shop quote, who needs a box in a size nobody sells.
