The photo frame template, flat and folded
What this template is for
A standing photo frame: a front with a window a little smaller than the photo, a back the photo slides into from the side, and an easel leg so it stands leaning back. Sized to your photo. Gifts, weddings, desks and school photos.
Also called picture frame · paper photo frame · standing frame · cardboard frame — all the same shape, and this is it.

Printing it
- Type your size above, then download the PDF.
- Print at 100% — never “fit to page”, or every measurement comes out wrong.
- Too big for the paper? Pick your paper size and leave Fit the pieces to the page ticked: each piece gets its own place on a sheet and the PDF comes out with every page in it, nothing cut in half and nothing to tape.
How to put it together
These pictures are the photo frame itself, not a generic diagram — change the measurements above and the template changes, but the three steps never do.
-
Cut the solid lines
Every solid line is a cut. Do the inside shapes first, while the sheet is still whole and easy to hold.
-
Score every dashed line
Dashed lines are folds. Score each one first — an empty ballpoint against a ruler — or the card cracks along the outside of the bend.
-
Fold, glue and hold
Cut out the frame, its window and the leg. Fold the BACK behind the FRONT along the side crease and glue the tabs on its top and bottom edges inside the front, leaving the far side open. Glue the LEG to the back where the note says and fold it out. Slide the photo in from the open side.
Glue: a glue stick for paper, white PVA on card — hold each seam thirty seconds, and let the box dry standing up.
Questions about the photo frame
- What size photo?
- Type the photo’s width and height. The window is 3 mm smaller on every side, so the photo cannot fall through, and the frame border is added around it.
- How does it stand?
- An easel leg glued to the back holds it leaning back by the angle you set. The leg is cut exactly long enough to reach the table at that angle; the page says how high up the back to glue it.
- Will it print on one sheet?
- Yes for a 3.5 × 5 in (89 × 127 mm) photo, the size it opens with: frame and leg fit one A4 or US Letter sheet turned sideways.
Print your own design on it
Add a logo, photo or pattern in the panel on the left and drag it onto the photo frame. It is trimmed to the cut outline, embedded properly in the PDF, and never leaves your computer — most free template sites hand you the outline and stop there. How printing your own design works.
