The agarbatti box template, flat and folded
What this template is for
The long, slim incense stick carton sold in every Indian shop: a straight tuck box sized from the stick length, with a front left whole for your brand and a punch-out stand so the box holds a lit stick upright.
Also called incense stick box · incense box · agarbatti packaging · dhoop stick box — all the same shape, and this is it.

Printing it
- Type your size above, then download the PDF.
- Print at 100% — never “fit to page”, or every measurement comes out wrong.
- Too big for the paper? Pick your paper size and leave Fit the pieces to the page ticked: each piece gets its own place on a sheet and the PDF comes out with every page in it, nothing cut in half and nothing to tape.
How to put it together
These pictures are the agarbatti box itself, not a generic diagram — change the measurements above and the template changes, but the three steps never do.
-
Cut the solid lines
Every solid line is a cut. Do the inside shapes first, while the sheet is still whole and easy to hold.
-
Score every dashed line
Dashed lines are folds. Score each one first — an empty ballpoint against a ruler — or the card cracks along the outside of the bend.
-
Fold, glue and hold
Score every dashed line. Punch out the two small stand holes in the side panels. Glue the narrow flap to the far panel to make a long tube. Fold the dust flaps in and push the bottom tuck inside from the back. Slide the sticks in, fold the top dust flaps over them and tuck the lid shut. To burn one, lay the box on its side and push a stick through both stand holes. If you set a window border, cut the opening out before you fold anything and tape cellophane over it on the inside.
Glue: a glue stick for paper, white PVA on card — hold each seam thirty seconds, and let it dry before you use it.
Questions about the agarbatti box
What size should I type in?
The length of your sticks, not of the box. The box is drawn 5 mm taller than the sticks so they slide in and out, and the panels are one board thickness wider than the front width and depth you set. It opens at 200 mm (8 inch) sticks, 50 mm wide and 16 mm deep, which holds a flat pack of about 20 to 30 sticks.
Will it print on A4?
At the size it opens with the sheet is 146 × 264 mm, which fits A4 and US Letter. Sticks longer than about 210 mm (9 inch agarbatti are 230 mm) make the sheet taller than A4 or Letter can print, so use A3 or Legal for those, or shorten the tuck flaps.
What are the two small holes for?
They are the stand. Punch them out, lay the closed box on its side and push a lit stick down through both: held at two points a box-depth apart it stays upright, and the side of the box catches the ash. They are 2.5 mm across for the bare bamboo end of a stick; set the stand hole to 0 to leave them out.
