How do the holes line up?

The hang hole is cut through the front and the back at mirror positions about the fold, so when the topper is folded the two holes sit exactly on top of each other. Its top is 4 mm under the fold, and there is always at least 10 mm of card under it for the staples; a header too short for that is made taller, and the page says so.

Make the width the width of the bag, and the header height however much of the bag top you want covered. The default is 100 mm wide with a 40 mm header, so each topper is 100 × 80 mm flat and three print on one A4 or US Letter sheet.

Which bags does it fit?

Any flat bag you can fold over once: cellophane and OPP treat bags, glassine bags, small paper bags and zip bags. Fold the top of the bag over once, slide the topper over it and staple through every layer under the hang hole.

Type your size above, then download the PDF.
Print at 100% — never “fit to page”, or every measurement comes out wrong.
Too big for the paper? Pick your paper size and leave Fit the pieces to the page ticked: each piece gets its own place on a sheet and the PDF comes out with every page in it, nothing cut in half and nothing to tape.

How to put it together

These pictures are the bag topper itself, not a generic diagram — change the measurements above and the template changes, but the three steps never do.

Cut the solid lines
Every solid line is a cut. Do the inside shapes first, while the sheet is still whole and easy to hold.
Score every dashed line
Dashed lines are folds. Score each one first — an empty ballpoint against a ruler — or the card cracks along the outside of the bend.
Fold it together
Print your label on the FRONT, cut out the toppers and their hang holes, and crease the dashed line. Fold the bag's top over once, slip the topper over it and staple through all the layers under the hang hole.
