The shelf wobbler template, flat and folded

What this template is for
The card on a stem that sticks out from a shop shelf and nods as people walk past: round, square or a starburst, with a foot that tapes under the shelf edge. Offers, new lines and prices for shops and market stalls.
Also called shelf wobbler · shelf talker · shelf dangler · shelf stopper — all the same shape, and this is it.

Printing it
- Type your size above, then download the PDF.
- Print at 100% — never “fit to page”, or every measurement comes out wrong.
- Too big for the paper? Pick your paper size and leave Fit the pieces to the page ticked: each piece gets its own place on a sheet and the PDF comes out with every page in it, nothing cut in half and nothing to tape.
How to put it together
These pictures are the shelf wobbler itself, not a generic diagram — change the measurements above and the template changes, but the steps never do. The names in capitals are the labels printed on the template.
-
Cut the solid lines
Every solid line is a cut. Do the inside shapes first, while the sheet is still whole and easy to hold.
-
Score every dashed line
Dashed lines are folds. Score each one first — an empty ballpoint against a ruler — or the card cracks along the outside of the bend.
-
Step by step
- Print the offer on each WOBBLER card, then cut them out.
- Crease the dashed line across the end of the STEM and fold the (tape) foot back.
- Put double-sided tape on the foot.
- Press the foot under the front edge of the shelf, so the card stands out into the aisle.
Glue: a glue stick for paper, white PVA on card — hold each seam thirty seconds, and let it dry before you use it.
Questions about the shelf wobbler
What size is a shelf wobbler?
The printers’ standard is about 98 mm across and 210 mm tall with the stem. This opens at an 88 mm card on a 112 mm stem, 200 mm in all, so two print side by side on one A4 or US Letter sheet. Set any card size and stem length.
How do I fix it to the shelf?
Crease the foot (the last 25 mm of the stem) back, put double-sided tape on it and press it under the front edge of the shelf. The stem then holds the card out in the aisle, and it wobbles as people walk by. Without the bend, tape it flat behind the shelf strip as a shelf talker.
Which material?
Use 300 gsm card for a stiff wobbler, or thin plastic (PP or PET, about 0.3 mm) so the stem springs and keeps nodding. Print the offer on the card before you cut it.
