The mini zine template, flat and folded
What this template is for
An eight-page booklet folded from one sheet with a single cut — the one-page zine. Every page is marked in the order it folds into, with the top row upside down as it must be. Comics, recipes, story books, menus and party programmes.
Also called 8 page zine · one page zine · mini booklet template · zine template printable — all the same shape, and this is it.

Printing it
- Type your size above, then download the PDF.
- Print at 100% — never “fit to page”, or every measurement comes out wrong.
- Too big for the paper? Pick your paper size and leave Fit the pieces to the page ticked: each piece gets its own place on a sheet and the PDF comes out with every page in it, nothing cut in half and nothing to tape.
How to put it together
These pictures are the mini zine itself, not a generic diagram — change the measurements above and the template changes, but the three steps never do.
-
Cut the solid lines
Every solid line is a cut. Do the inside shapes first, while the sheet is still whole and easy to hold.
-
Score every dashed line
Dashed lines are folds. Score each one first — an empty ballpoint against a ruler — or the card cracks along the outside of the bend.
-
Fold, glue and hold
Print, then cut along the one line through the middle pages. Crease every dashed line both ways. Fold the sheet in half the long way with the print outside. Hold the two ends and push them together: the cut opens into a diamond, then a cross. Keep pushing until the pages fold flat around it, and close it into a book with FRONT (1) on the outside.
Glue: a glue stick for paper, white PVA on card — hold each seam thirty seconds, and let the box dry standing up.
Questions about the mini zine
- Why is the top row upside down?
- When the sheet is folded in half, the top row goes behind the bottom row and turns over, so it ends up the right way up. Pages 2 to 5 have to be printed upside down for that.
- Which order do the pages go in?
- Bottom row from the left: 6, 7, back cover (8), front cover (1). Top row from the left, upside down: 5, 4, 3, 2. The template marks each page; turn the numbers off if you print your own artwork.
- Will it print on one sheet?
- Yes — a zine must be one sheet. At the size it opens with, 63 × 92 mm pages, it fits one A4 or US Letter sheet turned sideways. Pick a bigger sheet for bigger pages.
Print your own design on it
Add a logo, photo or pattern in the panel on the left and drag it onto the mini zine. It is trimmed to the cut outline, embedded properly in the PDF, and never leaves your computer — most free template sites hand you the outline and stop there. How printing your own design works.
